HERE DVD Downloads for Factory-Installed GPS
One of the most popular ways to install HERE Updates to your GPS is via a disc, CD, or DVD. This is the only way that you can update GPS maps on factory-installed in-dashboard navigation systems. For example, if you drive an Acura, Honda, Ford, Infiniti, Mercedes-Benz, or any other car brand that comes with GPS Navigation embedded in the dashboard then you can only update the maps via an official DVD.

HERE Maps Download – You Need an Official Map Update DVD
You will need to order a navigation map update DVD from HERE direct and then install the software directly via the disc drive in your car or vehicle. Some website forums might contain instructions on how you can get around this by using a hack or torrent and then burning the HERE maps to a DVD – but this is not advisable (please continue reading below).
HERE Software Download DVDs & Maps
Unfortunately, because the GPS is in the dashboard, you will need to purchase a HERE DVD in order to update the GPS maps. It is not possible to download HERE Software or maps from the Internet, you will need to purchase an official HERE Navigation Disc. If you do purchase an official DVD then you will benefit from accurate, official, and the most up to date directions possible. You will not have this guarantee if you try to do a HERE CD download – which is also illegal as well as potentially harmful to your PC and navigation system.
HERE Free Download – Not Advisable
If you have seen websites that claim to offer a free download HERE maps then please be very cautious. It is known for these websites to carry viruses, and will not only potentially infect your PC, but could also damage your car’s navigation system leading to costly and expensive repair bills via your official dealer. In addition to that, every HERE disc comes with a unique serial number for the customer, and without that it is impossible to install and update the HERE GPS maps – with a free download.

However, it is possible to download HERE maps for the standalone and portable devices such as Garmin, Navigon, and Magellan. You will need to download the new software direct from the manufacturer’s website – and in some cases it is possible download HERE maps free – Garmin have a promotion called the nuMaps Guarantee which lets a customer do this within the first 90 days of ownership. Conclusion on HERE Update Downloads
To conclude, it is possible to get a Navigation DVD download, however, it is unlikely that you would get this to work on your car’s GPS due to the fact you won’t have a serial number, plus the chance of PC infection is high. However, if you own a standalone portable device (like Garmin) then you can download HERE maps – but you will need to do this via the Garmin.com website.
If you want to find out more about how much it costs to get HERE Map Updates then please use the link below. This will take you to the official Navigation.com website where you can select the device brand you own, or your car’s brand, model, and year. 2008 Honda Accord (Page 1 of 10)
CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2008 Honda Accord has several serious defects: poor brakes, excessive oil consumption, & uncomfortable seats.
BRAKES: There was a class action lawsuit against Honda in 2010 for premature & excessive brake wear. See our page on Honda's brake problems for more info.
OIL CONSUMPTION: Honda issued a TSB about this in late 2011, claiming it could be fixed through a software update to the VCM (variable cylinder management). There are class action lawsuits pending. See our page about the Accord oil consumption.
UNCOMFORTABLE SEATS: Owners have consistently reported uncomfortable seats with the entire 8th generation (2008-2012) of Honda Accords. Complaints range from back pain to leg circulation problems due to bad lumbar support, cushioning, & seat angle. Complaints aren't limited to only a certain body type -- the seat comfort problems are from a wide spectrum of owner height & weight. The common theme we hear is 'we never noticed this during the test drive.' Unfortunately for unwary buyers, the seat pain is noticeable after 15-20 minutes.

My vehicle's piston rings are damaged and my vehicle is burning oil. I noticed that after checking my oil one day that there was no oil on my dip stick. I had just recently gotten an oil change less than 2 weeks ago. I check my fluid levels frequently due to I just purchased this vehicle about 3 months ago. I took it back to walmart where I had the oil change done at and they performed another oil change and replaced the oil filter, where I was able to watch them do the entire process. About a week and a half goes by and I went to check the fluid level and again the dip stick was bare. There is no indication of any oil leaking underneath the vehicle, nor is there any oil present on the ground underneath the vehicle after sitting overnight. There is no white smoke coming out of anywhere, no oil burning smell, absolutely nothing visible to see what might be going on with the vehicle. I took it to a mechanic that is in town where they did a thorough examination of the vehicle and stated that the oil burning is being caused by the piston rings. They are in their opinion faulty piston rings that have developed an abnormal amount of deb-re on them and they need to be replaced. I feel this is something that should be in the recall list due to this vehicle only has 104,123 miles on it and the pistons should not have to be replaced.- Round Rock, TX, USA

The vehicle has good compression, but a strange noise is coming from the engine. It is also losing oil while leaving no oil markings. The vehicle has never missed an oil change, and was getting one when the mechanics said that the noise meant that the engine had problems. Multiple mechanics have told us to replace the V6 engine. The tire rods also need to be replaced, and the tsm light never goes off- Aiken, SC, USA

Honda Accord Ingenix Card Update Download Free
My car makes this rattling sound when I first start the car. I brought it into my Honda dealership to have it looked and they said it is a known issue related to other Honda Accord but Honda won't cover the cost to have it repaired. They gave me an estimate of $480 to have fixed. I've searched online and found that many Honda Accord owners have also faced this issue with the rattling sound. If it is a known defect and saftey issue, why hasn't Honda issued a recall to fix it?- Providence, RI, USA
